HISTORY
Well-known companies such as MAN, Mercedes-Benz, Siemens and Heidelberger Druckmaschinen are among the company's customers.
1926
Hugo Arens established the foundry named after him in Iserlohn ...
... which initially specialized in automobile fittings, and supplied renowned companies, such as Borgward, until the 1960s.
1964
Wolfgang Arens took over the business of his now deceased father ...
... and ultimately got involved in the commercial vehicle industry. Since then, MAN and Mercedes-Benz have been members the foundry’s customer base. In the 1990s, a new building was erected in Iserlohn, and at the end of the 90s, the gravity die foundry was expanded.
2003
Matthias Maier bought the company and took over the management.
Since then, the Hugo Arens GmbH & Co.KG has been characterized by constant innovations.
2004
The 3D CAD software was introduced;
the quality management adapted to the ISO 9001 certification; and investments were made in modern CNC machines.
2008
Our quality management is being further developed ...
... and subsequently successfully certified according to DIN ISO 9001. We continuously improve our internal work processes to maintain quality as well as economic efficiency.
2010
Mechanical production is converted from conventional production to CNC production.
CNC machining centres and CNC lathes are purchased. At the same time, this investment required a conversion of the premises.
2016
The measuring and testing room is expanded.
In addition to the CNC measuring machine, spectral analysis as well as density index testing is integrated. Spectral analysis is an important part of materials testing and is used to determine the chemical composition of the aluminium in order to check and ensure quality.
2019
We set up a room for video meetings,
... with which we can conduct video conferences with single or multiple participants. This simplifies customer relations, especially abroad, and reduces travel and thus the environmental impact.
2021
A new 4-axis casting machine is installed in the permanent mould foundry.
The machine enables the use of complex casting moulds and relieves our employees in the foundry.
2023
Tube processing is being modernised,
... a machining centre with 4 CNC-controlled axes for machining profile bars or parts made of aluminium and steel up to 4m in length is now being used. The machine has an automatic tool changer with 8 places travelling along the portal of the X-axis. The 4th CNC axis allows the milling spindle to be rotated from 0° to 180° and positioned at any angle in between. The machine is therefore able to perform machining on the top and sides of the profile at any inclination within the possible range.
